A Little Dialogue
Hello, everyone! This is a new page I’ll be experimenting with just a bit. Before we begin, I want you to know I have no real experience with poetry, either in writing or reading. Having said that, it was brought to my attention this might be an additional vehicle I could use in my teaching, so I thought I would give it a go. I’m not certain we can technically call it poetry, so I would be more comfortable calling it an inner dialogue of sorts. My friends, that’s the thing about life, we can create what we would like and define it however we would like. It’s all good! At heart, I think we all have an artistic side, we just need to explore a little and see what’s available to us. All artistry, no matter what form it takes, provides for us a release through expression, and this is always a good thing. It is, after all, a way for us to give some kind of form to our thoughts and feelings, in an effort to find meaning, and hopefully be able to convey this meaning to others.
I must say, not only are we artists at heart, but teachers as well! To know that we are teachers, helps us recognize our intent to be helpful. This intent to help can be communicated in many different ways. We must also keep in mind, that some forms of teaching are highly symbolic by their very nature. This is an excellent format, for a symbolic approach is always “open-ended”, if you will, and provides a way for each person to find their own meaning.
Indeed, our self-discovery happens through our teaching, our service, and our artistic expression, whatever form that takes. My friends, what lies underneath it all is an effort to become whole. It is a healing, a gaining of understanding that is our direction. I encourage you to find your vehicle of expression as well, for it is there just waiting for you!
