“Giving Thanks”

A book 5178205 1920 (1)

Thanksgiving is a powerful word indeed! On this day, we celebrate life and the opportunity to come together in gratitude. We share not only great food, but also our experiences over the last year, both good and bad. Over this entire holiday season, let’s not focus so much on the hectic part of it all, but see it as a time to relax and get away, a mini vacation if you will. The past year has certainly been intensely stressful for all of us, but it’s time to let that all go and truly be together. Take a deep breath, really look into someone’s eyes and say, “How nice to see you, thanks for being here”.

Yes, we have an opportunity to do things differently this time around. Rather than focus on past grievances, we can see the joys and struggles of one another to be the same for all. You see, no matter what kind of relationship we find ourselves in, it’s important we see each other as fellow human beings first. We are simply brothers and sisters on the way to a better and brighter future. We can indeed support one another in this common objective. Look at each person and see the inherent value that is there. See the light and love beneath the flaws and annoyances. We all deserve this appreciation. In this way, we better see the contribution we all make to this wonderful life and world we have been given.

Let’s not forget, as well, to give thanks for the greatest gift of all, the opportunity for growth and change that is always upon us. We can and must appreciate the strength, courage, and willingness that we all share. Each of us has our glorious gift and contribution to make. Every human being, every family member, every friend, and every companion makes the world what it is, and makes life itself worth living. With this acceptance and gratitude, we are truly free. We lovingly support, always.

Be well, my friends

Happy Thanksgiving!
