For those of you actively engaged with your healing process, are you finding your way? Let me tell you, getting that emotional body cleaned up is indeed long and arduous! It is a simple willingness to endure the pain and confusion that will ensure your success. I will remind you, it is not a forever thing. What will help you proceed and succeed, is to notice those moments of balance and peace, for they are there. Yes, they are few and far between, but there nevertheless. It is to this I have a few words today. Part of the reason those moments of peace and well-being are so infrequent is due to the nature of the emotional body itself. You see, my friends, the emotional self wishes to always be busy, to always vibrate intensely, to always be active. It may seem ironic to you, that although our goal is to free ourselves from such intensity, we must feel deeply in order to create it. We must recognize that deep feeling serves only one purpose. It is to help us heal from previous misunderstandings. Once we discover the inaccuracy of our perception of any given experience in the past, then the feeling part of the healing process is over. It is time to let go and move on, for this is the only thing left to do.
The question arises, “If I have discovered what I need to understand, and I have made the necessary correction in my mind, why do the same feelings and memories keep happening?” The answer is so simple as to escape us. My friends, it is our addiction to intense feeling and experience that creates this unnecessary suffering. There is nothing else for us to understand. What we must accept is that intense emotional experience is not the only way to feel alive and have a sense of purpose. Perhaps we just need to acknowledge that this way of being is what we’re used to, that’s all. But to find a new way of being, to open ourselves to the new path of life, we need to practice telling ourselves no. We need an occasional reminder that emotional turmoil, a constant emotional reaction, will not lead us to the path of peace, to the path of the creative spirit.
Once the majority of our healing is complete, the new way opens. The moments of balance and well-being will become established, and be more consistent, for again, we must get used to a new way. Although this is our goal, it comes with a new set of problems. Before we can fully enter the new way, we reach what is called “a resting point”. You see, a necessary equilibrium has been established through our healing process. To a great extent, the activities of the emotional self have stopped. Although emotional stability is a good thing, and we “feel better”, it also brings with it an unusual sense of discomfort of its own. Remember, we’re used to intense feeling, and this includes joy and excitement. It’s also important to acknowledge that intense emotion always involves some type of action that must be taken in order to resolve it. My friends, we’re also addicted to having something to do at all times! Once we feel ok, now what do we do? To avoid that sense of panic, the temptation is to create an emotional experience again. If we succumb to that, we return to the roller coaster, and the opportunity for a new way of being will be lost. Keep in mind, an experience of boredom will often accompany this newly found peace as well. Boredom is a critical indication that it’s time to resist returning to the old way of constant emotional stimulation. Don’t do it! Get comfortable feeling just ok. This is temporary. Even more importantly, practice not having something to do. Sometimes just being is all we need to do. Once this resting point is fully established, there is no place to go but up. Our spiritual transformation is now underway.
Many of you have been on the spiritual path for a while now, and you have indeed accomplished much of your healing. Unfortunately, although you are doing quite well, you will still have those days when you feel just awful. I understand it seems unfair, for you have worked so hard. It’s confusing, for there is no apparent reason to be feeling badly. Forget about self-judgment, for it will not be helpful. Let’s remember, part of our service is to remove some burden off of humanity itself. My brothers and sisters, it is a fog of fear, misunderstanding, and intense emotional significance that envelops them. Part of our job is to let this pass through us, to create an easier go of things, a clearer path for the rest. This fog, this miasma, is burned away by the activities of our soul. Forget about the path of martyrdom, for we know it does not work. We accept what is and do what we are able to. This is the most difficult and important transition humanity has faced thus far in its journey. Part of our role is to destroy that which is unnecessary. The fog therefore dissipates. Our hearts are uncomfortable, but this is indeed the work of light and love. The Spiritual Hierarchy encourages us to remain objective and free of significance as we move along. Let all pass through, let it go. A cold detachment is often required. Greater purpose will follow, the path widens for all.
My friends, a difficult and challenging month, but a very thoughtful month. A resting point. I hope to finish up with a few more words mid-week, something of a lighter nature. We must have a little fun too, lest we lose our way! I am with you.
A resting point
Let yourself be ok
Float on the surface
Let the ripples pass by
Light, love, and purpose are now yours
It’s time to just be
All my love and support, be well
