The 1st Ray represents the central purpose of our universe, or the “Will” of God. The first three rays are known as the “Rays of Aspect” as they concern the three primary forces or energies that comprise all that is. Spiritual Will or Divine Purpose is considered quiescent at this time in terms of conscious participation on our part. This is why the real purpose of life or existence remains a mystery to us. We will however become aware in a conscious way of our essential purpose at some distant time in the future. For now, it’s important for us to understand that Spiritual Will underlies all manifestation as a cohesive force within our experience. In other words, Universal Purpose intends to “hold everything together” as one working whole. Although the 1st Ray is not being fully expressed at this time, it still finds its representation in the world, as all energies and forces do. Let’s take a look at two areas where Spiritual Will and Power find expression in the world today.
Government
All the various governmental institutions of the world are under the influence of the 1st Ray of Will and Power. There are of course different branches within any government, all influenced by a corresponding ray energy, but it is the 1st Ray that is the overriding force in play. If we were to be more specific, we understand the executive or presidential branch to be the primary representation of power. Because Spiritual Will is somewhat young in its expression, we can see the different governments struggling to implement their ideologies effectively. Whether we consider democracy, socialism, or communism, we can see that they are still quite “experimental” in their development. All these different governing ideologies are important expressions of the one universal purpose and indeed have their value. They are just different in their particular presentation. It is important for us to recognize the part of universal purpose, that of the 2nd Ray of Love and Wisdom, is the dominant force or energy we are working with and attempting to understand in our current world period. We can say with some certainty, then, that a democratic system is more in line with the universal plan, as it is more representative or affiliated with this 2nd Ray line of energy. In order for us to be successful in our ventures, we must ultimately choose to align ourselves with the Divine Plan, even though we may not know what that is. Perhaps we can understand the various ideologies of governance as the spokes of one wheel or one central purpose. As we explore these different methods, we will eventually understand that a coming together of the differences represented by each will reveal a common objective that applies to all. Please consider the above comments as merely indicative of where humanity is headed. The need to establish a system based on equality within humanity cannot be overstated.
Positions of Leadership
Within all world institutions, especially in the business and corporate world, it is the CEO or all department heads that are under the guidance of the 1st Ray of will and power. Really, any executive or leadership position would be influenced by this energy. Their essential goal is not only to provide leadership, but to maintain a common purpose and objective. Ideally, it is their job to keep all the parts and positions within their company or organization together as one working whole. This is the principle of cohesion or fusion, which is the outstanding influence of 1st Ray energy. If we remember that pure Spiritual Will is not currently being properly expressed, we can see the potential for problems and difficulties. Spiritual energies are always represented, regardless of their appropriate implementation, hence we find them expressed through the personality or lower nature in many instances. This is, unfortunately, the case within the world governments as well. We can see the undesirable outcome of too much focus on personal power and the acquisition of money and resources as the primary motivation in leadership. Not to worry, though. Humanity is well on its way to the development of the heart. It is love that will assure the proper expression of will and power. All leaders will eventually understand that Spiritual Power cannot be found within themselves as an individual, but within the group they are leading.
We’ll keep the remarks on the 1st Ray brief you guys, as so little information is available, much less understood. At least from my experience and point of view, I am unable to provide a lot that would be useful or meaningful. We can however understand 1st Ray energy as a gradually unfolding plan and purpose. How we become aware of this plan can be found in the understanding and implementation of 2nd Ray energy. A full expression of love, and the wisdom love will provide for us, is the ultimate goal. We’ll be exploring this a little further in the next part of this series.
*For those of you interested in the astrological implications of 1st Ray energy, it typically expresses through the cardinal signs of the zodiac, Capricorn and Aries to a greater extent and Libra and Cancer to a somewhat lesser extent. Individuals found in these signs are most definitely “go-getters”. Their focus tends to center around achievement as a primary motivating factor. They are naturally drawn to positions of leadership, although this is not always the case, it’s most assuredly a tendency. If you want to see a person get things done, this is where to look!
