“The Purpose of Knowledge”

Tree 736885 1920

Fellow companions, the purpose of knowledge is quite simple. The purpose of knowledge is revealed when it used. The very reason we wish to acquire knowledge is to learn something. We study, we listen, we live our lives in order to gain experience. The most important thing we must recognize about the actual purpose of knowledge, then, is within its application.

An intellectual pursuit of the vast amount of information and knowledge, within our physical world, within the universe of which we’re a part, and indeed within the greater spiritual world, is just the beginning. A necessary expansion of our very own minds is the initial motivation, you see. However, if all of this knowledge we acquire remains within our minds only, then its true purpose will surely be lost. If we fail to bring the knowledge forward, into our actual daily living, its true value cannot be expressed. Whatever knowledge we believe we have must show itself working out in our life. Then, my friends, we can actually know something. Just as a side note here, our goal is really to gain wisdom. Knowledge and wisdom are not the same thing. Wisdom can only be gained through the application of knowledge, that is, to have an actual experience of that knowledge. Then the purpose of knowledge becomes an opportunity to also gain the purpose of wisdom, which is essentially an opportunity to share it. Our lives and our experience gain their true meaning through active service, through the giving of that which we have acquired. The wisdom we have gained completes its long journey when we teach what we have learned, when we teach what we have learned through our experience. From the intellect, to the experience, to the wisdom, to the sharing of that wisdom. From the mind, to the heart, to the world. This is the correct pathway. The purpose of knowledge is now complete.

It might be appropriate to mention here a common mistake every human being makes. That is, every person walks around thinking they understand something, but they have no experience to back up that apparent understanding. We live our lives, always being willing to share this great understanding, when in reality, no understanding actually exists. You see, what we believe to be true, what we think we know, is almost always based on what someone else has told us, what we have read somewhere, or perhaps something we would just like to be true. In this way, we are manufacturing our reality, rather than living it. Again, my friends, we cannot truly know anything without experience. We must live the reality we intend to create, we must apply the knowledge we have obtained, we must do something with it. Then, we can truly know.

The very best way to understand how to use knowledge properly is to know how to apply it with all practicality. We can have the best ideas in the world, but if we’re unable to bring them forward into our lives, they will have no practical value at all. My friends, work on the things that are right in front of you first. The bigger ideas, the ones that will change the world for the better of all, will naturally follow. Your personal or individual issues need to be resolved first before the bigger, more inclusive ones, can be brought forward in any way. This is the practical approach. It’s a lot of hard work, so you must be patient with yourself. The best advice I can give you is to pick one thing and see it through to completion before you move on. The main contributor to all failure is an unrealistic approach to actual capability. I know, we get so excited about what we’re learning, we’re filled with love and incredible willingness, we have all desire to be of help in some way, but this will lead to an over-zealousness, or an impractical belief, that we can somehow do it all today. Having said that, I also remind you, today is the day to begin. Again, pick a couple of smaller things first and see them working out in your life. Pay attention to your experience, and you will know the purpose of the knowledge you are attempting to bring forth. The bigger ideas, the higher concepts and principles, the ones that are inclusive, and therefore entirely beneficial to all, have their value also, but keep them alongside the practical living of your own life. The greatest service you can give to others is to heal and know yourself. Let the rest unfold. See your success in the parts of the process itself, and you will never be disappointed. One thing is understood, and another will surely follow.

The Ageless Wisdom Principles, the work of the Master Khul, and many other works, I hope you are studying and engaging with. The spiritual work contains within it the life principles that apply to every human being, without exception. But, dearest friends, most of what they will reveal to us must be considered from the perspective of long term development. We cannot expect to be a Master, or even a Christ, today. Tomorrow, it is a certainty. These are really big things you will one day bring into your lives and into the lives of others. But, today is the only day that matters, yes, we have a long way to go yet. So, be realistic, be honest, and be patient. Gain an intellectual grasp of the spiritual work and its principles, and then live a simple, normal, healthy, and hopefully productive, life. And remember, the most important principle, the most relevant experience you must have, is a working out of love within your life and all that life contains. Love first, wisdom and true understanding next. I think we can all acknowledge that the light of the soul is coming through, little by little, day by day. With this light we are indeed being flooded with inspiration, the greatest of ideas, and this is a very good thing. And, there is still much more to study, much more to learn. There’s always something more! The most important thing you can learn right now is that one day, it will be time to put the books and the studies down, and live your life to the best of your ability. Give yourself the opportunity to experience what you have discovered. If you do that, I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised, you have grown. You already know a lot, you know what you need to know, just be willing to see it happening. We’re living in a physical world for a reason. So, allow the light and love to come through. Then, go out and have a glass of wine with your friend and talk about it. Laugh about life! Relax, have a little fun! This is knowledge applied. This is experience gained. From this experience of real joy, for that’s what it is, go out and share it with every other. In this way, the sick, the dying, the fearful are healed. In this way, you let everyone know they are not alone.

Before ending with these few words today, I wanted to give you a little more awareness as you proceed on this wonderful journey. My friends, we cannot allow the vast knowledge we have in our minds remain there, and have that be enough. We have to do something with it. If we do not, we create a most difficult problem for ourselves, we will become what is called “top-heavy”. With too much at the top and nothing at the bottom, we’re likely to fall over and not be able to get back up. It indicates that our mind is over-filled with knowledge and no place for it to go. Unfortunately, this condition will eventually and inevitably lead to, and this is true for every disciple on the spiritual path at some point, that uncomfortable anxiety, confusion, and doubt. Yes, the creative and beautiful mind can also become a prison of our own making. If our vision is too grand, if our expectations of ourselves and what we are trying to bring forward are too unrealistic, we become prone to states of depression. Depression is simply a reaction to perceived failure, a failure that does not really exist. To avoid this discomfort, give your thoughts and ideas a home. Bring them into the physical life through some kind of action. The simplest of actions will comfort you, and bring back to you that sense of freedom, balance, and peace you so need today. Perhaps the simplest of actions would be that you take a deep breath and just be. There’s nothing to worry about. We’ll get there together. All the knowledge, all the learning, and all the results they intend to bring us are cyclic. We have periods of seeking knowledge, and then we must follow through with the application of that knowledge. Go within and study for a while, then get out there and get busy. You will know when it’s time to learn and when it’s time to live. It’s a natural rhythm you will find, my friends. We need both to understand balance, to experience real truth and wisdom. Practicality, realism, suggests that we do what we can with what we already have, and let that be enough. Some result must be seen and acknowledged with the little things before we continue with the big ones. The spiritual principles are not showing up in your life, you say? Sure they are. You’re just not paying attention. Give it time. Give yourself a break. We need you, so be at peace with yourself above and beyond all else. Appreciate what has already been done. Then you are truly free for the next. If you find yourself in a bind, if things are getting uncomfortable, get out of your head and into your heart. Let knowledge be what it is, and let love be everything else. Ok? Listen to, and be with, the teacher living within. All is well.

Fellow companions, I give you my love, we give you our love. Know that we are by your side always. This year, we have every opportunity to see some fruition to our efforts. We will see, if we are willing to see, what is possible. We will accept what is bad, because what is bad has less importance. We will accept what is good, because what is good has all relevance. We are doing well, so let us remember who we are and continue. We must be realistic about what is possible as well, for what is possible is what is realistic, and what is realistic is certainly enough. Humanity is ready to finally realize what the true nature of life is. The nature of life is the beautiful world we create today. All knowledge has been given, you see, it’s simply our time to use it. When we use it, it will work. Love is complete, then, in every way.

May peace be with you. Together, we achieve.
