Fellow companions, everything is energy. When two different kinds of energy contact one another, they create light. When two lights come together, a new kind of light, an even greater light is created. This is the story of the universe, this is the story of us. The underlying factor in this most beautiful process is of course love, that magnetic attractive energy which allows the entirety of creation to happen. God, the Center, the One, is. Each kind of light expresses itself in the form of color or quality. Every form of life, including each one of us, is an expression of one of these essential qualities that makes God, the One Life, be what it is. If we could but see, our world, our universe, our lives are but the most beautiful lines of light and color, all interwoven into one magnificent whole. God expressed. All connected. The Rainbow Bridge.
This incredible reality, however, exists only as potential for us. How things really are, then, we cannot yet see. It takes time. As conscious awareness unfolds, the true reality is revealed. It is a gradual, somewhat slow revelation, indeed. It requires our willingness and patience. Friends, from our experience, we grow in our understanding. With greater understanding, our awareness of the beautiful and the true increases. Again, it is a process. The more willing we are to engage with the process, the faster the revelation will come. Our hearts and minds create bridges of light, you see, connections, from here to there, from one to the other, from below to above, from the inner life to the outer life. We wish to be whole, we wish to be one again. With this intent, our potential transforms the reality in which we currently live. Basically, we create what we want. Essentially, we create what is meant to be. If our goal is wholeness, oneness, then we must understand the process to be one of relationship. Again, we must establish connections. Once the bridge of light is constructed, once the connection is made, love is known for what it is. Love has done its job. Light and love synthesized, then, completion.
The building of this bridge of light, also known as the antahkarana in ancient Sanskrit, is technically a thread of consciousness, an expansion of consciousness, constructed of our own mental substance, and indeed, of our own heart’s greatest desire. It is the vertical line of that most important universal symbol, that of the cross. It is the inner life. It is what connects us to our Creator. The horizontal line of the cross, in my current understanding, is a bringing forward of this critical relationship to the outer physical world in our relationships with others, indeed, with all forms of life here in our physical world. Dear friends, it is we who create this bridge. Every human being is involved in this most beautiful creation. Again, some are more consciously aware than others, but it is still happening for all. The construction of this great bridge of light happens in phases. There are basically two parts. The first is our connection with the Love of God, essentially with our soul. The second is our connection with the Will of God. This will come much later. For those of you more familiar with the esoteric teachings, this second phase begins at the 4th Initiation and thereafter. It is beyond the scope of the teaching presented here. So, let’s return to practicality, and build a bridge to the soul first. It is an inner experience. Fellow companions, this is what our meditations are all about. This is what you are doing and creating in those quiet moments. This relationship, this line of light, must be established within. The bridge to the outer physical world follows.
It is in your meditations where all of this happens. It requires your creative imagination, your visualization skills. The problem for every spiritual student is an attachment to physical proof of such happenings. This, friends, is the greatest obstruction to the process. How do we get around it? Well, if you think about it, we do this all the time in our everyday physical living already. We imagine what we want, what we would like in our lives, and patiently look for results. The inner creative process, the development of a relationship with the soul, is no different. Having said that, working with the soul’s light is a little more subtle. It is a different kind of energy, a different kind of perception. Symbols, impressions, our higher feeling nature, which is essentially the intuition, we begin to utilize and interpret within the world of meaning. If you are just beginning with this process, the soul will always use images, thoughts, ideas, and feelings you are familiar with. Perhaps even past experiences in your life in which you felt at peace, loved, connected. In this way, you will know what the soul wishes to impart. Indeed, the soul knows what it is doing. All we have to do is pay attention. Every spiritual aspirant has the same question. “When will I know this bridge of light has been created?” Remember, friends, the greatest impediment to success is impatience. So, the advice I give you is to relax, trust, and be willing to continue. The soul’s light and love comes and goes. We have to accept that. I assure you, there will come a day when the process has done its work. The light of the lower self and the light of the higher self unite. The ultimate goal, then, and it will eventually happen for each of us, is that we will be able to bring the energy of the soul through “at will”, anytime, anywhere. Results in the world, within humanity as a whole, will slowly, but surely, follow.
Again, companions, your meditation is important. Find the time. Even five to ten minutes has most definite results. But, no more than twenty to thirty minutes. Hours upon hours of deep meditation, reflection, contemplation, are no longer suitable or realistic, especially for the western disciple. I would argue, for the eastern disciple as well. Keep it short and simple. Remain detached from specific and immediate results. The light and love available to us these days is of a much higher quality than it was in the past. It just doesn’t take as long to establish a much-needed peace and stability. It must be remembered that we cannot live our entire lives within, nor can we live our entire lives in an outer world of constant activity. A proper and necessary balance must be achieved. Physical living and spiritual living have equal importance. I guarantee you will have some very intense experiences in your meditations. Perhaps a little overwhelming at times. But, the energy you receive will always even out, there is never a need to worry. Having said that, it should be very clear that too much light is just as problematic as no light at all. OK? Be practical and humble. Ultimately, light and love need a place to go. This is our work in the outer world, our giving, our service. Do something with it, and all success will be yours.
The Rainbow Bridge is the establishment of group-consciousness. The Age of Aquarius is all about unity. All it takes is a little love. The first requirement is the development of that line of light to your individual soul. But remember, the soul on its own plane of existence is already part of a group, the higher group, the Spiritual Hierarchy. You will build a sense of what group-consciousness is, then, within the relationship you have with your own soul. It is our goal to bring forward all of this to the physical world. Humanity is a group also. What does the group need? What is my individual contribution to it? This is the plan for us, my friends. Again, it can happen rather quickly, or it can take a long time. It’s up to us. The important thing to realize is that it will happen eventually. Do your meditation and believe it is working. Let light and love shine forth. Create beauty within, and beauty all around will also be created. Who doesn’t want that? Indeed, it is what the World Teacher wants. We have to want the same. It is the key.
Fellow disciples, before we part today, I would like to return to this problem of impatience and expectation. Essentially, these will create a premature orientation toward results. OK, meditations are going well, the bridge of light is acknowledged within, some peace and love are found, an inner-knowing is being established. Indeed, we have much light and love to share. Then, we return to the outer world and experience nothing but rejection. From others, we get a reaction that makes no sense at all. It is very painful. It is very confusing. After all, shouldn’t love work? Isn’t the lighted way helpful and transformative? Well, love does work. Light is helpful. It is the establishment within that is the most important realization you must have. Seeing it in the outer world, in others, takes a little longer. Results within have the most value. Results in the outer world are incidental. I want you to think about that. Friends, if you think I do not understand how you are feeling, what you are experiencing, you do not see me. I have had nothing but rejection in my life. But, once I recognized that all I really had to do is be the light and love I had found, the pressure ended, the rejection ended, and more positive reactions from others were seen, and continue to be seen. Learn how to tone it down. Don’t push. We radiate, that’s all. The light and love we radiate exposes, reveals, the potential in others, the potential in the world. You see, detachment is not denial or passivity. It is a most necessary skill we must develop in order to proceed. The fact that we have found what we have found will guarantee that others will find the same. Then, they too, will radiate. There is no failure. See the Rainbow Bridge that already is. In this way, the painful part of the journey is over. By the way, also remember, the World Teacher, the Christ, the Buddha, the Masters, the Angels, they have already gone through what we are experiencing today. This is how they are able to teach what we need to know today. Never forget, dear friends, those who have gone before us are with us today. The bridge to the other side of the rainbow is complete. With this love and support, we succeed in every way.
