From the darkness comes light! The beginning of the universe existed as a formless abstraction, so the darkness can be understood as unexpressed creativity. God’s intent was to make something of himself. A way for us to conceptualize this is to see the original “Divine Spark of Creativity” as a branching out of universal intent. As this divine creativity becomes more physical, it also becomes more specialized or focused. The One becomes the Many. Our conscious experience of ourselves as physical beings is the most concrete expression of the greater universe. We are, in a sense, the “physical” part of God. All are part of creation, you see. Everything in this enormous universe is connected and has its own specialized focus and purpose within the greater whole. The ancient adage “As Above, so Below” will be our premise.
The Ancient Wisdom Teachings break our greater universe down into seven groupings of energy known as The Seven Rays of Divine Expression or Manifestation. These are the seven departments of God, if you will, and they find their corresponding expression within our physical experience as well. We find these seven expressions within all the seven religions of the world, such as the “Seven Archangels” in Christian theology. In this series of discussions, we will explore how these seven divine expressions find their way into our physical lives as the seven departments of human living. There are also seven groups or types of souls that correspond to the seven divine archetypes, and each of us can be found within one of these seven groups. Our goal here is to define the seven departments in terms of their physical expression and how we as individuals can learn about where we find ourselves within this spectrum. Understanding the type of soul we have will help us understand our specific purpose within the greater whole and when identified, will help us achieve a fuller understanding of the role we play in the grander scheme of things. To define ourselves is a goal for all of us, and this pursuit of self-understanding will eventually provide for us a sense of ease and comfort as we live our lives.
Having considered the esoteric or universal side of things, we will be considering the practical implications of The Seven Rays and how their corresponding energies impact the physical world we find ourselves in. We will take an in-depth look at each of the seven rays over the next several weeks, and here they are:
Ray One – Will and Power
Ray Two – Love and Wisdom
Ray Three – Active Intelligence
Ray Four – Harmony Through Conflict
Ray Five – Concrete Knowledge and Science
Ray Six – Devotion and Idealism
Ray Seven – Ceremonial Order and Magic
All my love and support, be well
