OK, are we ready to get to work? Are we ready to create a better life, a better world? It’s not always going to be easy, but has it ever been? I think we need to step back and remind ourselves of the vision, for our vision is absolutely clear. You see, as human beings, we have a tendency to worry way too much about all the details. We forget about the bigger picture, we lose sight of what it is we are actually creating. This makes our journey unnecessarily difficult, indeed, we will have no joy in the process itself. So, let’s talk a little about this today. It is time for us to know that the details of it all are only relatively important at best. The only real purpose of the details, therefore, is to reveal the greater vision before us. It is the vision which has all importance. If the greater vision is in place at all times, each part of the process will matter less, and we’ll be much more willing to fully engage with whatever part of the process it takes to bring that vision forward. Remember, how we get there matters little, it only matters that we arrive.
Let’s begin by being honest with ourselves. This is always the critical first step. My friends, one of our greatest obstacles is that we over-analyze absolutely everything. We already know there are steps we must take in order to achieve our vision, a way to produce for ourselves that which we need. But, we must realize that each step, each detail, each part of the process, is only one thing, not everything. You see, if we analyze everything to death, we will have no way to proceed at all. We spend too much time making every detail perfect in order to move forward. We are overly concerned about how to do it, rather than just doing it. Perhaps we need to remind ourselves that if we knew how, it would already be done. The details become strenuous when we keep trying to manage them in the same way that we always have. In this way, we attempt to create our new vision by recreating the old one. The old vision, the old way, is us making every little thing more significant than it really is. Can we just allow ourselves the opportunity to say, “Maybe it just doesn’t matter that much”? My friends, how about a little freedom, a little flexibility in our approach. If we don’t allow this, we’re going to get stuck, we’re going to lose our way. When this happens, we are likely to panic, and the old way will be seen as the only way. Again, let’s step back and see the whole picture. From that vantage point, the better way, the how of it all, will be revealed. Then, the details become secondary, they will have found their rightful place, for an easier way, the wholeness of the vision has been found instead.
My friends, if we continue to over-emphasize the details, guess what’s going to happen next? We’re going to find something wrong! My God, we just refuse to let ourselves win. Isn’t that what we do best, focus on the imperfections, rather than the glory of that which we envision? We nitpick at ourselves and others, incessantly. When we obsess about what is wrong, we stop. There is no way forward. By the way, in our current political landscape, isn’t that what the media does all the time? For heaven’s sake, we find a good way, we see a way to move forward, all the joy and excitement is there, and they will see some little thing that must be addressed before we can do anything else. This is what we do to ourselves all day long. We find something wrong, so that we don’t have to try. We notice a mistake, so that we cannot possibly succeed. The problem we have is a simple one. We just don’t want to do it.
OK. What we must accept, is that whatever we create, no matter how good it is, is still not going to be perfect in every way. My friends, no perfection is possible. But, we must acknowledge that whatever we do create will be better than what we have now. We cannot lose. We will face opposition in our individual lives, and it is the same opposition we will face as a majority within the greater world. But remember, the role of all opposition is to present what is wrong. The goal of opposition is to focus on the unimportant details. The entire purpose of opposition is to have all be perfect in order that we proceed. It is the vision of all opposition, that the old way is the only perfection that can ever exist. The best way has already been established. We cannot go back. Our intent is to learn, to grow, to become the next best thing. How we go about this necessary process matters not at all. We’ll figure out all the details as we move along, for the vision provides for us everything we need. We have no fear, we are not concerned, we simply do.
Yes, each of us has the opportunity to create the new and the better. It is up to us how we want our lives and our world to be. We accomplish that by paying attention to our lives, we do the required work there first, or the better world we intend to create can never be. So, we pay just enough attention to the details, only as a way to indicate what the next step forward toward the vision is. We see the bigger picture, and we know the creation of the vision to be a process. With each step forward, we see what is right, not what is wrong. And, if we need a little help along the way, we’re going to ask for it. The greater vision seems to be just about us, but it is not. The vision includes all. It does not matter so much how we get there. It only matters that we bring others along with us. The whole picture is what we must see. We simply try, and everything will be ok. It is likely that everything will be much more than just ok. Let us move forward, then, and forget about the rest. Beautiful, wonderful, perfect. What a view!
