Does everyone have a good idea of what projection is all about? Basically, it is a tactic in which we attempt to place our own behavior onto someone or something else. This is a well-developed human skill, and as unfortunate as it may be, we all engage in this behavior at some time or another. What we are trying to do, my friends, is avoid self-responsibility in our lives. In essence, the inappropriate and questionable behavior we see in others, we refuse to see in ourselves. When taken to the extreme, this selfish behavior becomes a deviant tactic in which we attempt to keep our real motivation hidden. It is a way to deflect from what we are doing, by placing it on others. Ultimately, this cannot work in the end, for others will eventually see what we’re up to, call us out, and thereby give us the opportunity to “come clean”. In some cases, we project our stuff without knowing, because we either cannot or will not see it. When we’re ready, we’ll take a look and correct what needs to be corrected. In other cases, and these are much less common, we know exactly what we’re doing, and engage in the tactics of deception and manipulation in order to give ourselves a pathway to fulfill our own self-interest at the cost of others. It is these times when the consequences of our behavior will be much more severe, for we are truly conscious of improper motivation.
If we want to fully understand the negative effects of the practice of projection, we need look no further than the political stage in the U.S. As much as we’ve had to endure already, I’m afraid the lies, the deception, the game playing is going to get much worse with the upcoming 2024 presidential election. Let’s remember, folks, the world is a stage. It is a stage to help us see and confront ourselves. You see, Donald Trump and the Republican Party have nothing going for themselves but projection and deflection. This is who they are, this is their entire way of life. But again, what has changed in all of this is our increased awareness and perception of what is really going on, even to the point of it being ridiculously obvious. It has become crystal clear to us that when Donald Trump, or the Republican Party accuse the Democratic Party, Joe Biden, the F.B.I. of doing wrong, it is they who are fully engaged with such activity. We are not distracted, these tactics no longer work. In order for us to change the direction of our country, in order for us to see the importance and stay engaged, we must remember that while all the game playing is going on, our human rights are being taken and the resources we need are being withheld by those who intend to deceive. For those who choose to continue supporting Donald Trump and the Republican Party, keep in mind, Donald and many other Republicans would sell our military secrets and nuclear codes to North Korea, China, or Saudi Arabia for twenty bucks. What appears on the stage before us are serious matters indeed. With the onslaught of misinformation and blatant deception coming our way over the next year, we can remain focused and even relaxed. We know what we want now, and we also know how to get there.
My friends, what we are realizing today is that projection doesn’t work anymore. We can no longer blame someone else for the condition of our lives, our world, and the current reality we find ourselves in. We are strong, we are capable of being responsible. Part of this responsibility involves the letting go of our bad habit of finding fault where it does not belong. We are the ones on stage. If we are on stage, then we must understand we can be seen. A little honesty, modest changes in our behavior is all it takes. All the bullshit happening in the political world is entirely exhausting, but we must always remember it is only a reflection of ourselves. The game begins and ends with us. It’s ok, we can do this!
Just a few words today, fellow companions. We may have to put our seatbelts back on, because it’s going to be a bumpy ride! Remember, we have the stamina and determination to proceed in a forward direction. With all the support we have available this year, we cannot help but succeed in whatever we choose. For the remainder of the month, we’re going to return to the life of the soul, where all this support can be found!
