“The Power and Importance of Our Young People”

Our young people are indeed our most valuable asset. Their power and importance lies in a vast inherent creativity. Yes, they have an ongoing opportunity to change and improve the world in every way. Each generation that follows us sees an increased ability for greater self-expression, which will always indicate the true potential of humanity itself. They are open to new ideas, to new and better ways, and they have a natural desire to create a better life and world for all. The very best way we can describe the reality our young people live in, is a reality filled with innovation. It is we who must provide a way for all of this to happen, to give them every opportunity to succeed. My friends, this is what is upon us today.

In the past, it was always our goal to provide our children with greater opportunity, so they were able to have an easier go of things as they proceeded forward in their life journey. Unfortunately, what we see today is indeed much less opportunity, and certainly much more unnecessary burden. The real tragedy is that our children today are entirely stressed at the earliest age. Their creative potential is squelched by what we have imposed upon them. If it is our goal to free them of this unnecessary burden, then we must change what we value, for it is our values which create the conditions we place our children in. It is our most important responsibility to educate our children in every moment. Having said that, we should be aware their education is largely based on observation. They learn how to live their lives by how we are living ours. And let’s be honest, friends, we are overly stressed, overly busy, and we spend most of our time paying attention to the least important things. The majority of us are working in a job we do not enjoy, and therefore find ourselves unfulfilled in every possible way. This greatly affects our level of joy, optimism, and overall attitude about life in general. We engage in all kinds of unnecessary activities, things we believe are important, because everyone else is doing the same. We have no time for our children to encourage and support them, no time to understand who they are and what they want to do. We also find ourselves in relationships or marriages that are, at best, just ok. Yes, we are buried in resentment and don’t even know why. Let it be said, the quality of the relationship with our partner is one of the greatest contributing factors to the confidence our children have. If we have no time, if we have no joy, if we have no love and honesty, our children inevitably suffer.

The young people of our world need an open doorway once again. Hope, yes, hope. Freedom, yes, freedom. Encouragement to be who they really are, yes, an opportunity to give of themselves, to give their gift to a world in need. But, there are, unfortunately, many ways in which we inhibit this vast potential. Today, let’s consider two.

Social Media

Social media platforms are one of the most damaging things we have created in our world thus far. No matter what anybody says, our children are not ready to live a life of the totally impersonal. My friends, we are not machines, we are not smartphones and computers. We are living, breathing, sentient beings. If we are to properly educate our young people, we must encourage them to get out there into the real world and meet real people. This is how they will get to know themselves, and how they will begin to understand themselves and what they are able to give. We know ourselves by being with others. By giving our children the opportunity to go online in every moment of every day, in order that they find acceptance and acquire self-knowledge, through the mean and cruel behavior of selfish and self-serving individuals, no proper education is happening in any way. Our children’s self-esteem and self-image have plummeted into the darkest of untruth and despair. Unfortunately, the majority of what can be found online today is the uneducated opinion of the many, not the educated and valuable experience of the few. When our children go out into the world, then, they will undoubtably have an undue and unfounded fear of others, rather than a necessary willingness, openness, and cooperation. Perhaps we can find the time to sit down with them and tell them to put their devices away for a little bit! Only real life experience can provide an indication of the wonderful spirit that lives in each of us. Perhaps we can spend a little quality time with our partner as well, in front of our children, to show the love and appreciation we have. This will surely indicate a beautiful world and life just waiting to be discovered.

Money, money, money

Oh, my dear friends, what a problem we have created. If our young people are to find a true and joyful creativity, a sense of their real self, and an appropriate awareness of their need to contribute, we must stop telling them that the only indicator of success is the amount of money they are able to acquire. This is what we do, yes, it’s all about one thing and one thing only. But, we have found no peace, no fulfillment. Again, our children see the lack of joy we exhibit and the lack of value we hold. They will unfortunately create the same life, follow the same path, if we do not become honest with ourselves and choose a different way. We encourage them to study, study, and study some more. All of this to have an opportunity to continue with an often unnecessary higher education. All to have a false status in society, all to have a lot of things. They begin their life journey, the greatest time of their life, from a place of insurmountable debt. And, more often than not, they will pursue a career full of emptiness, a life devoid of any true creativity that was to be their destiny. We teach our young people to take a job that pays a lot so that they can acquire a lot of things they do not need. A life is lived in and for work, then, with no time to play and enjoy. The true gift they had every intent to offer, and the opportunity to be with their fellow human beings in an honest and genuine way, are entirely left behind. The reality is, our children enter this world filled with innovation. Innovation that can improve every aspect of human living. But, we give them no opportunity to bring this forward, for almost every company, almost every career, has an obscene profit be the only goal. Again, our young people begin their life journey relatively free of any inherent greed, but we proceed to impose our greed upon them anyway. Freedom and creativity is squelched in every conceivable way. As materialism grows within humanity, its spirit is therefore imprisoned. Each generation sees these conditions worsen, not improve. They will have less and less if we continue in this way. Perhaps we can teach our young people the importance of quality over that of quantity. Perhaps we can teach them the value of change and transformation over that of a desperate need to maintain the status quo. This will give them power, this will indeed give them a sense of true importance.

Our young people, yes, our very children, will show their true nature, the gifts they are able to contribute to the world we live in at the earliest age, if we simply allow ourselves to see, support, and encourage them. Our world, our lives, can never become what is intended without this simple act. We must forget about the money, and think of peace, fulfillment, and the giving of great gifts instead. This opens the doorway, and provides our young people with every opportunity today, and every day that follows. To properly educate them, indeed to love them, we must create the time, by letting go of the unnecessary in our own lives. My guess is they would be more than willing to put down their devices, if we put down the big home, the fancy car, and the eighty hours a week that is required to support them. And, we could help them achieve much faster overall by releasing the vast sums of money sitting in banks, serving no purpose whatsoever. They need us, my friends, and we need them. It’s all about the quality of life. It’s all about the quality of love. These are the only things any of us have ever required. How could our young people be any different?

My friends, it is time for us to realize that we cannot continue to give a world we have created to our young people any longer. A world that is not working in so many ways. We must allow them to pave their own way, and create a better life and world than we have had. In this way, even we benefit, for they are indeed a continuation of ourselves. Our number one job is to help them discover their gift. This will, beyond any doubt, create what is needed. You see, our children are relatively free of limitation and obstruction at the start. They become limited and fearful when we force a reality we have created upon them, and asking them to comply in every way against their very will. Yes, it is a world we treasure in many ways, often not knowing why, but a world that could stand some improvement nevertheless. They know how. In order for them to be successful, we need to remind them that the internet is a virtual reality only. It is entirely important, we remind them of the real life, the real people, and the real world that awaits them when they’re ready to fully participate. And again, we encourage them to develop a true creativity that will enhance the beauty of the world and the people within it that already are. The purpose of this creativity is not to bring them things they do not need, but to help all of us have what we all need. If we are to help them see who they are, they must see themselves and all others as part of one circle. Each is an integral part of this circle, which makes the circle complete. The idea of love and inclusion, therefore, is the greatest education they could possibly receive. Our young people are important, and they do have the power to be anything and everything. As I always say, it is our time today.

“Shall the wealthy and the selfish inherit the Earth?”

No, my friends

“Shall the meek and the helpless inherit the Earth?”

No, my friends

“The truly creative, the truly wonderful, the truly giving, indeed our youngest and finest shall inherit the Earth”

All my love and support, be well
