“A Final Resolution to the U.S. Civil War?”

News 1074604 1920

Is the United States returning to the times of the Civil War, some 150 years ago? Well, in a way, we certainly are. Are we entertaining the idea of yet another actual war? I don’t think so, for the numbers just aren’t there. It is rather striking, however, if we look at the political map itself as it exists today. Except for the inner-mountain west, we have a clear line of demarcation between the North and the South. But we must keep in mind this line is only an arbitrary one, based on the two opposing political ideologies of our country. So, we have an opportunity today to return to the time period of the Civil War and find out, once and for all, what it was really all about. If we take an honest look, as painful as it may be, we will find out why we are where we are today and reject a returning to the old ways that no longer work. Let’s take a look.

What slavery was really all about, back then, was providing ourselves with free labor. The reality of us forcing an entire race of people into submission, by removing all rights and freedoms, we gave ourselves permission to take what we felt was ours. My friends, this is not the way to create what we need. Unfortunately, we can justify any such obscene behavior, by making others feel less than. The appalling inequality, lack of justice, and the perpetuation of oppression that happened all those years ago, is still happening today. We must understand the perpetrators of yesterday to be the same perpetrators of today. But, if we make this be all about race, I’m afraid we will miss the point. You see, all minorities are being used, attacked, and marginalized as a means for a small group of people to have everything. This small segment of humanity has greed and power as its foundation, and it is time for us to see them as the minority, not the majority. And, this is of paramount importance, this very small group of people who live in darkness, has members of every race, every gender, every nationality, every religious belief system within it. What we know now that we perhaps didn’t know then, is that all of these particular differences are unimportant, and only the differences in a person’s nature and character truly matter in the end.

The political line of demarcation in the United States, and all across the world, is between those that have money, power, and resources, and those that do not. The tactic used by the minority of haves, is to get us to fear one another, hate one another, and therefore fight against one another. You see, if we “look over there” we remain distracted and see our fellow brothers and sisters as the cause of our suffering. Because we are fully engaged with our own deception, those that have will continue to take what has always belonged to everyone. We are the majority, and we are not threatened by any particular group or person, because our group is composed of all peoples. We do not fear or hate anyone or anything, for we know now that all manufactured superiority is pure delusion. The true cause of our apparent misfortune is but a limited evil disguising itself as a majority. My friends, if we have what we need, then we have real power. When we have real power, then we can no longer be controlled. When we have control over ourselves, true greatness becomes a real possibility, and we place ourselves in a position to offer this greatness to each of our fellow human beings.

We do not hate or resent those that have, we do not fear those who currently have power and control. What we can do is continue exposing all the hidden motivations, revealing to us the actual causes. The Republican Party of the United States has been engaged with the tactics of deception and manipulation for decades upon decades. The corporate world, the wealthy among us, and even our religious institutions, have been withholding the truth for eons. But it is not their fault we find ourselves in our present condition. The fault lies with us, for we continue to pay attention to things that do not matter.

There is no need for us to manifest another Civil War. It is the small group of self-interested individuals who want us to believe that certain segments of our population are the takers, when it is actually they who are doing all the taking. I find it ironic that the Republicans in the U.S. Congress, who say they oppose slavery and racism, do everything to promulgate the very same with every piece of legislation they put forward. It is even more ironic that they themselves are slaves, slaves to greed and power, and slaves to the ones who have even more than they do. We, the majority, can change all of this by saying no to the ridiculous deception that bombards us at every turn. To accomplish this, we must stop blaming one another, for we’re going to need the mutual support that exists in order for the majority to have the final say.

On this Memorial Day Weekend, let us pay tribute to those that have fought on our behalf, by us standing up for ourselves. It is our civil war, and it ends when we say it’s over. No life is ever lived in vain, no life is ever lost, when freedom for all is found.

All my love and support, be well
