I don’t think the condition of the Republican Party is based on them losing their way. What we have been witnessing is the actual platform of the Republican Party. Nothing has essentially changed within this platform, it’s that the principles of such have been made visible to all of us. I think their constituency has been misled for decades now, and the Democrats have also been misled in terms of what the motivations of the Republicans actually are. Let’s consider a couple of observations here:
If we were honest, the Republican Agenda is based on “hidden motivations” and not any real policy in terms of helping the American people. These reality checks have been mulled over again and again, but they are worth mentioning regardless. Their platform, at least as presented to all of us, has centered around the need for small government and individual rights. These are important considerations, for sure. The next thing they have going is the push for lower taxes so that the average person and small businesses are able to survive. If any of us are within these two categories and are paying attention, we can say that it is more difficult to survive and do well than it has ever been. Once again, the American people have been misled and manipulated. The principle of lower taxation was and is only applied to the incredibly wealthy and enormous, multinational corporations. This approach is of course necessary in order for them to be elected and stay in power. The majority of the American people suffer because of it. The reality is that the Republicans could never get elected or have any substantial power without huge corporate and individual donations. We can see however that through the popular vote over the last 20 years or so, the Democrats always win the popular vote, or should win if things were fair. This is an indication of where the majority of Americans stand and what they believe to be important, and this is a good thing.
The Republicans realize they could never win through the popular vote alone, and this has become painfully clear to them. It has become so serious that they are now resorting to all kinds of actions that are either illegal or, at the very least, should be illegal. It’s time for all of us to wake up, or we will find one day that we have no rights as an individual at all. Not to be overly dramatic, but we will become a slave race to the Republican Party and the corporate world they represent. We will have absolutely nothing.
If we were to examine whether Republicans are racist or that racist policy exists in their ideology, I will say this. It is somewhat, if not entirely, irrelevant. The fact that racism exists in humanity, and the American people are part of humanity, is most definitely a serious problem in need of correction. What is relevant, as it applies to the Republican Party, is that their constituents are being blatantly manipulated by using their fear and lack of understanding against them, all so that they can get elected and stay in power. In the meantime, they offer no access to money and resources for their own constituents in order that they survive and have a better life. The fact that many of their constituents are completely unaware this is happening is a total tragedy and is completely unacceptable.
The Supreme Court has an opportunity to be aware of the dangerous situation our Democracy finds itself in and decide on an important issue very soon. I hope they do the right thing and base their decision on the will and needs of the American people. The Court as it stands today is very conservative, as we know. Their conservative viewpoint unfortunately may be based on the protection of their own wealth or their conservative, religious beliefs, and this will allow them to make their decision incorrectly. It is unfortunate that no person is truly unbiased. We’re all human, after all. The same is true for the members of our highest court. I hope the importance of our right to vote is at the forefront of their minds before they take action.
We do find ourselves in a precarious predicament in the United States today. We can of course be hopeful, and more important, vigilant. I believe in my heart and in my mind that we are ultimately headed in the right direction. All throughout history, as positive and powerful change is about to happen for us, there is an attempt by those representing the old ways to hang on for dear life. Unnecessary harm is unfortunately created because of it. I believe that the majority of American people basically have a good heart and a sound mind and want to do the right thing. We all want our country to be a better place, and the world to be a better place for that matter. Patience and fearlessness will be our motivation.
All my love and support, stay safe and be well
