“Now Is the Time for Planning”

Now is the time for big, bold ideas, my friends. If the Democratic Party isn’t up to the task, perhaps there is a third group who would be more than happy to take it on. We cannot wait any longer. Clearly, the Republican Party has already made their decision, and there is no going back. The United States will succeed. The American people will come together and create a democracy that was meant to be. Again, if the leadership within the Democratic Party continues down this path of total impotence, if they are unwilling to be honest and take some necessary risks and try new things, there are those who are fully able, there are those who will do whatever it takes to bring our country back to a path of real freedom. Indeed, it is our very destiny.

It should be clear to all of us that actual democratic principles are at stake here. Is it possible, my friends, that neither political party that currently exists in the United States even knows what they are? It may be a surprise to even the Democratic Party that the majority within this country do know what they are, and they have a deep longing to make them real and available to everyone. The only way to establish true freedom is to fully understand equality as the only foundation of it. We’re all human beings, we’re all trying to find our way. It is becoming much clearer to most Americans that we must accept one another first. Then, we are free to be together, work together, and do what must be done. What must be done will indeed benefit all.

A bold, new leadership in this country is absolutely critical if we are to survive. Now is the time for planning. This new leadership will tell the American people the truth about how we arrived where we are today. In order for our democracy to move beyond its current state of adolescence, it may be time to make some much-needed modifications. My friends, if we are to mature in this country, materialism cannot be the only indicator of success. It is sheer greed that has taken us into this very dark place. Each of us is responsible for our current condition. This can no longer be denied. Again, if any political leader is to truly serve, they must tell the truth at every turn, no matter how uncomfortable that truth may be. We have to begin somewhere. Fear and manipulation can longer be the keys to the success of any political party. Self-serving ideologies will not lead us forward together. True democracy has self-governance at its very core, so for any ideology to be effective, it would provide opportunity for all of us to be actively involved in every decision that is made. The majority of Americans would be happy to do their share if they actually knew how our government functions, and that their vote matters entirely in order for it to function properly. Again, we have a problem of leadership being completely unwilling to educate its own people. Who will stand up and lead?

The new political leadership, indeed, the new way of leading, will include an explanation of why our government does not work for the people currently, and why we are unable to establish the democratic principles we do in fact stand for. The answer is simple. Both political parties in this country are entirely controlled by big money and special interests. This is not a big secret. Yes, even the Democrats continue to fail to bring forward policies that work for the American people, because they are not honest with them about the fact that the corporate world and the super wealthy tell them what they can and cannot do. Certainly, not to the extent they dictate the entire policymaking agenda of the Republicans, but does it really matter? Money must be removed from every aspect of our electoral process if we are to find the best way forward for everyone. The United States Government is not a business for profit. Corporations are not the government of the United States. Who in this country has the courage to tax the wealthy and the corporations in order that “We the People” can survive? And, I don’t mean, maybe we’ll increase their taxes 3% or 4% over the next ten years. I mean, we’ll increase their taxes 20% to 25% the very first year, so that all of us can get back on track to better, reasonable, human, living conditions today. We cannot have certain people have everything and contribute nothing. What political leader has the courage to force American companies to pay living wages to all their employees? And, by the way, don’t increase wages and then turn around and increase rent, housing costs, and other things, so that you really have not helped in any way whatsoever. Don’t just pretend to give. Give.

The new political leadership of the United States will offer an agenda to improve our condition. But, they must only offer what they can truly deliver. Don’t tell us what we want to hear, we’re not children anymore. Tell us the truth about what is really possible. Tell us it might take some time to do it the right way. We can handle the truth, we can help you, we are willing to make necessary sacrifices, but you have to be there for us in the end.

The Democratic Party must pretend they are already in power. A little imagination is certainly in order. Again, now is the time for planning. My friends, we currently have no Congress. How can we obtain one? In all honesty, there are currently only six legislators in the United States today. They are the six, ultra-conservative, self-serving members of the United States Supreme Court. To the Democrats in Congress, when you retake power, and you surely will, the first thing you are going to do is not just limit the power of these six individuals, but remove it entirely. They are not elected officials. They have no say over our lives, unless you let them have a say over our lives. Please do the right thing for us today.

My friends, since we’re considering big, new ideas today, how about investing in some of our young people who can start new companies. Perhaps our government needs to understand that these new companies cannot be publicly traded. It doesn’t work. Once companies enter the NYSE, the moral compass disappears. The super wealthy even have the final say over them. There must be some big money still available in this country to help create a new way of running companies, yes, a new type of company overall. There are many young, talented, truly gifted people in this country who care more about life than just huge profits. What they are able to create will matter most to them. Let the competition begin. Let service be their motivation. Let them pay their executives a reasonable salary, but no more. Indeed, let them be one of the people, let them be with the people, let them be by the people, for the people. Let the monopolies end once and for all. Give those who really want to help create a better way every opportunity to contribute to that better way. This is the heart and soul of the United States, our true nature. Only together can we achieve.

New leadership begins with each one of us. We need to be honest about ourselves. We need to understand what our problems, and they are our problems, really are. The Mexicans are not our problem. The Blacks are not our problem. The Jews are not our problem. The Gays are not our problem. Greed is our problem. Hate is our problem. Selfishness is our problem.

Yes, the United States Constitution does need to be rewritten. Unfortunately, we cannot rewrite something we have no understanding of. Perhaps it is our time today to agree on some very basic things. Then, we can make our country be what we really want it to be, what it’s intended to be. How about fairness? How about truth? How about love? How about that seemingly unattainable togetherness? How about sharing what we already have? How about being our very best self? How about exercising some self-restraint? Yes, less opinion, and more action! The United States Constitution has everything we need. Putting it in modern, understandable language, would be entirely helpful. In this way, those who wish to reinterpret it for their own self-interest will not be able to do so.

Dearest companions, if it is power over others that you seek, if agreement must be yours at all times, if you must acquire obscene amounts of money in order to have a sense of purpose, you will never know what you really need to know. You will never become your real self. You will have nothing to offer, nothing to give. Indeed, the unnecessary struggle will continue.

Now is the time for planning. Now is the time to implement a new kind of leadership. Now is the time to recognize what needs to be corrected, and how to correct it. The truth must be ours. Then, we’ll be ready to move forward in full force when the opportunity presents itself. We are Americans. We are adults. It is our county, it is our world. Greatness is the reality for all of humanity. Let us simply remember. Let us get there together.

Much love and much courage to all of you, be well
