The first successor to the presidency of the United States is of course the Vice President. Second in line to this high office is the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Currently, the Republican Party has placed Mr. Mike Johnson at this very important post, so I thought we would take a look at who this man is and what he stands for. It should be obvious to those of us paying close attention, that the Republican Party has decided to take us as far right as is humanly possible in terms of policy, legislation, and principle. Within this far-right perspective, there can be found a group of extremely conservative Christians, who intend to have their vastly misunderstood interpretation of religious scripture be the foundation of all the above-mentioned political policy. Basically, this particular movement, if we could call it that, represents a small minority of Americans, about 20%. They have gained a substantial amount of power, and their goal is to have their limited viewpoint apply to the entirety of the American Public. Recently, Mike Johnson revealed his actual perspective of the current state of reality within the U.S. as requiring “The Wrath of God”. In his mind, he likens American life to that of “Sodom and Gomorrah”, where we as American citizens are sinning to the extent that Divine Retribution may be necessary in order to set our direction on the correct path, a path already trodden by us many centuries ago. A forward movement within our society, a necessary acceptance of our fellow brothers and sisters as they are, is seen as a degradation of ourselves as human beings, as an indication that we are mere sinners and can be nothing more. The belief system of the Religious Right, which is entirely based on fear, may actually be the true “Sodom and Gomorrah”. I suggest to you, my friends, that the “Wrath of God” is always used as a deterrent to an honest and necessary progression of the human spirit. A return to a distant past as the means to move forward is not only ironic, but the greatest tragedy of all. The other 80% of us must stand up and reject this approach with our vote in 2024.
Now, my friends, God Bless Mike Johnson and the 20% who live and exist on the Religious Right, for they truly believe what they believe and, more importantly, have a clear right to hold these beliefs. This is the beautiful nature of democracy. What is not allowed within a democracy, is to let 20% of the population have the final say over the other 80%. Let me be clear, the majority of Americans have no desire to have a theocracy be the governing body in the United States, or anywhere else in the world for that matter. Unfortunately, the Religious Right, comprised of so-called “Born Again Christians”, have an arrogance that allows them to believe that they are doing the work of God, and therefore have some divine right to dictate to the rest. Let it be said, again, there are very few within humanity who truly understand the nature of a loving God. We’re not there yet. Until we arrive at that better place, our only goal is to accept what is, to accept each other person for who they are. I must say, we are doing well. There’s no need to go backwards if we’re almost there. I remind you, Mike Johnson, and many like him, indeed have a sparkle in their eye. But, it is a sparkle of the ego that you see. The light of the ego is born of a misguided self-interest, misunderstanding, and a pursuit of personal power disguising itself as spiritual understanding. We must remind these people to pursue their life as they see fit, and let the rest of us do the same. This allows all of us to move forward, for this is the way.
I would ask those on the Religious Right if they remember the state of humanity centuries ago. My God, women were burned at the stake for being considered witches. Why, because they had sensitivity and feeling? Do we hang every non-white from trees because they are less than human? Are we to string our gay brothers and sisters to barbed wire fences? Do we hate Jewish people for a difference of opinion? Is hate our only option? For what, for a little money, for a little power? No, humanity is moving forward, and the pursuit of freedom and equality is the vehicle. My friends, this is the Divine Experiment, a democratic approach to human living and existence. And yes, this approach is inspired by the Almighty. For those who wish to remain motivated by fear and return to a past that clearly did not work, well, we love you. We must love all for the best way to work. To Mike Johnson, we love you, but we do not support you. To the Conservative Catholics sitting on the United States Supreme Court, we love you too, but we do not support you. We cannot support the oppression of women, nor the hatred of any group within humanity. Indeed, we cannot support the pursuit of excessive materialism as a pathway to God.
My friends, in actuality, the Republican Party consists of another group of about 20% as well. These are the wealthiest among us. There’s no need to explain their motivation again. This makes the Conservative Right to be around 40%. This should clearly indicate to those of us who wish to move forward that we are winning, for we are some 60%. Am I being overly optimistic? I don’t think so. We have an opportunity to make this country be a better place for all, indeed the world be a better place for all. But, we are not done. The coming elections in 2024, not just in the U.S., are the most important in the history of the world. All elections matter, local, state, and national alike. We have to vote. The majority, those of us with goodness of heart and clarity of mind, will win with a continued dedication and action. It is a confusing and difficult time for sure, but we will succeed. We must reject the sparkle of the ego’s eye, for it is not real, it is not the true light. It is the light of the soul that we must see and pursue, and we must choose our leaders accordingly, second in line to the Presidency and all.
There is much to consider this Holiday Season, but there’s no room or necessity for argument
We accomplish our goal, and set yet another
Let’s pursue what is right, and pursue it lovingly
Care not about your exhaustion, my friends, care about the future we are building today
It is our way, a way for us to move forward together
All my love and support, be well
