The details have only relative importance
It is the bigger picture that matters most
Wholeness is what we seek
My friends, do you know why we appreciate a beautiful view? It’s because we sense the wholeness of things. It is that subtle, but powerful feeling, we are part of something much greater than ourselves. Indeed, we are able to relax and let go of all the rest. Within the beautiful and wonderful view we see before us, there are many bits and pieces, details, which allow the bigger picture to be what it is.
As we pursue our lives, as we attempt to create that which is new and better, we must give due attention to the details, for it is each step that is part of the process, a process of creating the vision seen. Each step is important, for it provides us a way to get to the place we would like to be. Without each part, we could never know how to get there. Having said that, if we pay too much attention to the details, to each step, we will lose sight of what we are creating. The bigger picture will be lost. Remember, it is not so much how we get there, just as long as we get there.
You see, the overall vision must be in place at all times if we are to be successful. If we simply allow the greater vision to have the most importance, then all the details won’t matter so much. We will have an easier go of things, for we will have gained flexibility in our approach. It is when we over-emphasize the parts of the process, the details, that we get stuck. In other words, when we try to make each detail perfect in order to move on to the next step, we have no way to proceed at all.
Dearest friends, when life gets difficult, when we get stuck, we must step back and see the bigger picture. Be comforted by the view. Then, take a deep breath and continue. How to manage all the details will then be absolutely clear. Where there is a will, there is a way. You’ll get there. We’ll get there. Remember, each part of the process, each one of us, produces the whole. But, it is the whole that matters, not the part. This is the bigger, bigger picture. It applies to what we are creating in our individual lives, and to what we are creating together. We create the whole by being part of the whole. We bring the vision forward by doing our part.
